The laboratory is engaged in scientific research in the following areas:

conducting of laboratory, practical and independent work of students on digital television;
conducting of laboratory, practical and independent work of students on satellite television;
conducting of laboratory, practical and independent work of students on cable television;
carrying out work on ANSYS on the analysis of strength, heat, hydro-gas dynamics, electromagnetism, as well as interdisciplinary analysis;
carrying out of laboratory, practical and independent work of students on CAD Compass and AutoCAD;
conducting research works on creating models in ANSYS
conducting research works on digital television technologies

Educational direction.

In the Central Laboratory, the European DVB digital TV standard is studied, different types of DVB modulation, encoding standards, digital satellite TV systems, receivers, terrestrial terrestrial digital terrestrial systems, set top box systems, software demux subsystems subsystems, digital mobile and cable television systems, IPTV, streaming protocols, interactive technologies in digital television.

At present, the CT laboratory is used to carry out laboratory workshops, practical classes, independent work on disciplines: “Digital TV”, “Simple digital television”, “Automation of design and technological design”, “Computer technologies of design design”, “Computing and microprocessor tools “,” Optimization of design solutions “,” Analysis and synthesis of modern REAs “,” Computer design “, as well as for carrying out research work of students and holding classes on coursework in and graduation design. Also in the laboratory German language classes for students undergoing language training for the purpose of participation in the international program EduNet, which provides an opportunity for internship and continuing education in a foreign university.

Perspective directions for which scientific research is planned:
– conducting research on digital TV technologies;

– conducting research work on the creation of models based on ANSYS software;

– conducting research work on streaming video together with HUAWEI.

Lab equipment:

The laboratory has 15 full computer workstations equipped with a PC with a DVB-S and DVB-S2 satellite signal provided by two external offset satellite dishes. Up to twelve jobs have a satellite signal from the Sirius 5E satellite, the other three – from the satellites ABS1, Amos, Hotbird. Eight places in the laboratory are equipped with satellite tuners 5107ref of the company Ehostar and television receivers. Also, the laboratory is equipped with training and debugging complexes ML-1 and ML-2 based on the ATmega 128 microcontroller family of AVR family. For the discipline “Analysis and synthesis of modern REAs” there are 6 modern training and debugging models based on the programmable logic integrated circuits (FPGAs) of Altera company. There is also a C language compiler based on Codevision 5 and 4, software simulators MCS-51 studio and AVR studio, Eclipse KDE environment, and STM make compiler for digital tuners. All jobs are integrated into the local network with the ability to access the Internet. For conducting classes using slide lectures, the laboratory is equipped with projection techniques.

The study of digital television ranges from satellite antenna adjustment to programming of digital tuners with channel output to a television receiver. Also in the laboratory there is an opportunity to demonstrate HDTV television on the basis of Philips LCD TV and Blu-ray player.

For carrying out of laboratory workshop on discipline “Computer technologies of design design”, as well as carrying out of schools on CAD “Kompas-grafik” and “KOMPAS-3D “laboratory has 15 workplaces with CAD” 3D COMPUTER V14 “, which allows students of the department to master the modern system of automated design.

Since the establishment of the CT laboratory at its base, with the support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), free language courses for the study of the German language for students of KNURE are being conducted to participate in exchange programs and bilateral master’s programs.

During 2010-2011, a branch of the KNURE museum was created in the laboratory, in which television receivers of different generations for reception of analogue speech are presented.

The equipment of the laboratory is constantly updated and supplemented by modern software and hardware.
