Quarantine has been extended

The national quarantine, which was supposed to last until April 3, inclusive, was renewed for 21 days – until April 24, inclusive. The government made the corresponding decision today, March 25, 2020.

Thus, all educational institutions, regardless of their form of ownership and sphere of administration, must continue quarantine measures by the appropriate deadline.

“Given the situation in the world, such a decision was expected. Now the quarantine terms may again change depending on the epidemiological situation in Ukraine. The current UPE will need to be postponed to later dates. However, it will certainly happen. It will also change the timing of the opening campaign. Now we we have several possible scenarios for the development of events. I hope that by the end of this week we will be able to present them to the society with clear timing, “said Yegor Stadny, Deputy Minister of Education and Science.

Changes are also foreseen in conducting a pilot external independent evaluation. Detailed information about this will be published on the MES website tomorrow, March 26, 2020.

We remind you that since March 12, 2020, by the decision of the government, quarantine was introduced in Ukraine for all educational institutions.

In response to this decision, the Ministry of Education and Science recommended that educational institutions:

  •     refuse to conduct and participate in public events on the premises and on the territory of educational institutions, including external independent evaluation tests, competitions, competitions, competitions, exhibitions, and the like;
  •     do not send applicants for education and staff of institutions to countries with a high degree of risk of infection;
  •     to inform educational applicants and employees of institutions about how to prevent the spread of the disease, and actions in case of illness;
  •     to develop measures for conducting classes using remote technologies and for practicing classes in accordance with the curriculum after normalizing the epidemiological situation;
  •     to develop measures for the partial transfer of workers to remote work;
  •     provide preventive measures to prevent the massive spread of acute respiratory disease caused by coronavirus and acute respiratory infections;
  •     to allocate in the dormitories of the institutions of vocational education, professional before higher, higher, postgraduate education, places for isolation of applicants with signs of acute respiratory illness;
  •     comply with decisions of provisional regional anti-epidemiological commissions;
  •     limit the holding of scheduled meetings, inspections, examinations to normalize the epidemiological situation.

The MES also provided clarification that due to the introduction of a nationwide quarantine, teachers should be transferred to work as flexible and remote as possible, while even the employees do not actually go to work, the law keeps the average salary.
