The Government approved the changes initiated by the Ministry of Health to the decree on quarantine measures

On September 16, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted the amendments initiated by the Ministry of Health to the decree on the establishment of quarantine and the introduction of enhanced anti-epidemic measures. This was announced by Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov at a briefing following a government meeting.

“These changes were developed and submitted for approval by the government after a meeting with the mayors of the cities, which took place the other day. It was in synergy with the regions that a common position was found regarding the introduction of quarantine measures,” said the head of the Ministry of Health.

The document, in particular, provides that the decision to ban the operation of educational institutions in areas with a “red” level of epidemic danger of the spread of COVID-19 will be made only jointly by the State and regional commissions on fuel and energy security and emergency situations.

In administrative units with “orange”, “yellow” and “green” levels, schools are prohibited from operating when more than 50 percent of classes are sent to self-isolation through contact with a patient with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

According to the approved changes, the “red” level of epidemic danger will be established by a joint decision of the State and regional commissions on TEB and ES in the event that more than 75 percent of beds in health care institutions in the region are loaded for 5 days in a row or the national average incidence rate for COVID is exceeded -19 (cases per 100 thousand population in 14 days) more than 5 times.

This can be a one-time closure of all areas of business or the gradual restriction of certain areas that in this particular region lead to outbreaks of the disease.

Also, from Monday, September 21, a new epidemic zoning will come into force in Ukraine. The updated division into quarantine zones was approved at an extraordinary meeting of the State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies on Friday, September 18.

This was announced in his Telegram channel by the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleg Nemchinov.
