The Kharkiv Embedded School, jointly with GlobalLogic Ukraine, was officially opened on the basis of the DOED department

The project was started in 2016 on the basis of #NURE. And since 2019 it is already under support of #GlobalLogic #Ukraine.

Master of the Department of DOED Golikov Maxim visited the International Aerospace Salon of Le Bourget in France (Paris).

To do this, he was selected from 8,5 thousand contestants from 50 educational institutions of Ukraine. But his efforts were not in vain; at the air show, one could see the modern industry developments from Avionics and talked to their authors.

A half year ago, the DOED Department began the internship of foreign students from China. The organization of the meeting was assisted by Ivan Yarmak, an assistant head of the department of international relations with China on a voluntary basis. Students Yao Hongyan and Wu Xiaoyu completed a two-semester course in the basic disciplines of the department. It was a rather interesting experience for the teachers of the department since the training took place in English. The program is bilateral, so students of the DOED Department can also study in China. Students came from the Heilongjiang University of Information Technology, which is located in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, which is one of the best universities in China. Students from China showed a very high level of training, students devoted their free time to studying on electives, operating in our department. Students were very pleased with the exchange program because for them it opened new facets of learning, they touched the culture and history of our country, found new friends, and, of course, memories that will remain with them for life 🙂

The scientists of the department of DOED in cooperation with scientists from other departments of KNURE took part in UKRCON-2019.

UKRCON-2019 – IEEE 2nd Ukraine Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (UKRCON). The conference was held on the basis of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and the Lviv Polytechnic National University.

Associate Professor of the DOED Department Zaichenko Olga and Senior Lecturer of the Department Galkin Pavlo participated in the 1st International Scientific and Practical Conference MC & FPGA, which is currently taking place at the Department of MTS KNURE. The teachers adequately represented the direction of the built-in control systems based on the FPGA and the CC2530. Olga Borisovna Zaychenko presented a report on “Testability for FPGA”, and Pavel Viktorovich Galkin on “Design node for WSN” – for wireless sensor networks. Vahid Meghgadi, Professor of the Université de Limoges, Faculté des Sciences and Techniques, was interested in the development of the DOED Department.

The new Raspberry Pi 4 was released. No one expected the new version of the most popular single board computer to get so many improvements. From the point of view of physical design, everything remains the same: the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B looks exactly like the previous flagship Raspberry Pi 3 Model B +. It’s a tiny computer with a bunch of connectors, almost the size of a credit card.

Fractal Tools is an IoT environment for designing smart home, home automation. Students will be able to work with 10 development licenses and get access to modern IT technologies.

The Ukrainian Fractal Tools team is engaged in a product in the field of IoT. But it does NOT just another “smart” gadget, but a designer for such devices. Rather, it is a hybrid of the designer and the IoT platform. According to the founders of the company, with the help of this service, people without programming skills will be able to create IoT solutions of any complexity. This startup was a member of the Ukrainian pavilion at TechCrunch Disrupt.

The DOED Department invites everyone to join the ACS Forum in Ukraine.
The forum is intended for teachers, students and specialists to discuss issues related to education and science in the field of automated / automatic control systems as well as adjacent fields and fields of knowledge.

We invite to participate in the development of embedded control systems in Ukraine.

The protection of the bachelor’s work took place at the department of DOED. Students successfully defended their work and presented theoretical and practical results. The works are applied in the field of automation and wireless sensory networks.

Engineer Arthur Korobov presented an excellent practical report on security in ModbusTCP, as well as on hardware protection against Phoenix Contact. PLXnext and its programming and anti-intrusion capabilities were also introduced. Magnificent “cherry on the cake” of the Automation Day in Kharkov.

Today, at the DOED department, pupils from the Kharkiv Specialized School № 166 “Vertical” were welcomed. Students were presented with a detailed report on embedded systems, IoT and other modern trends in the engineering of embedded control systems.
